Rain, flash flooding possible in North Texas this weekend. Here’s what to know
Scattered storms are in the mix for North Texas this weekend.
The severe weather threat will be low on Friday, June 5, although some storms could produce heavy rain and gusty winds, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. Areas in Central Texas will have a better chance for storms Friday afternoon, with chances increasing for the Metroplex in the evening and overnight.
Storms are in the forecast for much of Saturday, June 6.
Again, the severe weather threat will be low, but some storms could produce small hail, heavy rain and gusty winds. Flash flooding will also be a threat for areas that see heavy rainfall, per the NWS.
Showers and storms will stick around into Sunday, June 7, with similar weather threats in the mix. Storms are expected to exit the region by Sunday evening.
Summer heat around the corner
Heading into next week, the NWS is expecting more summer-like conditions with daily highs in the mid to upper 90s.
Heat index values could reach triple digits next week, according to the NWS. In addition, dry skies are expected overhead.

- Saturday, June 6- 85 degrees, 70% chance of storms during the day and overnight
- Sunday, June 7- 89 degrees, 60% chance of storms during the day

- Tuesday, June 9- 94 degrees
- Wednesday, June 10- 95 degrees
- Thursday, June 11- 96 degrees
