After starting the week with storms, North Texas will head into the weekend following suit.

The National Weather Service Fort Worth confirmed that two EF-1 tornadoes touched down in the Metroplex on March 4. One tornado touched down in Irving, the other in Wise County near Cottondale.

Storm chances return to the forecast late Friday, March 7, and Saturday, March 8, with a cold front.

Lightning and brief heavy rain will be the main threats. However, there is low potential for strong to severe storms that could produce large hail and gusty winds, according to the NWS.
