Weather service confirms second EF-1 tornado touched down in Wise County

A second EF-1 tornado touched down in Wise County during Tuesday morning’s severe weather system, officials with the Dallas-Fort Worth office of the National Weather Service confirmed.

The tornado’s path was near Cottondale, a town south of Paradise, and wind speeds reached up to 110 miles per hour, according to a post on the NWS’ X account.

Over 3,400 electric customers in the Wise County area were without power Tuesday morning, according to the Wise County Messenger.

The other confirmed tornado from Tuesday’s storm touched down in Irving and damaged apartments and houses in the area, the Star-Telegram previously reported.
