First fall freeze in Dallas-Fort Worth is coming. Here’s when you need to bundle up
Dallas-Fort Worth could see its first freeze of the fall next week.
Confidence is increasing that a cold front will enter the North Texas region next week, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. Currently, there’s a 40-60% chance that the front will bring below normal temperatures.
High temperatures will most likely be in the upper 50s, with lows in the mid 30s to mid 40s. For rural locations in the region, the NWS said there’s a 20-40% chance of freezing temperatures from Nov. 20 to 22.
The average date of the first freeze in North Texas is Nov. 22, according to the NWS.
North Texas has certainly recorded freezing temperatures before and after then, but on average, the final freeze of the season occurs on March 12.

Over the last decade, November and December are the months most likely to record the first freeze of the season in North Texas:
