Hot temperatures and low storm chances in the mix for Dallas-Fort Worth. Here’s when
Summer heat will continue in Dallas-Fort Worth this weekend, along with a low chance of storms.
It’s been an interesting week in weather for Dallas-Fort Worth, which saw Tropical Storm Beryl skate by the region on Monday. North Texas didn’t see a huge impact from the storm, other than temperatures in the upper 80s and about 0.09 inches of rain, according to National Weather Service Fort Worth data.
Scattered storms may develop in Central and East Texas over Friday and Saturday, but Dallas-Fort Worth residents shouldn’t get their hopes up.
“Unfortunately, we may not really see any rain chances up in the Dallas-Fort Worth surrounding area,” NWS meteorologist Monique Sellers said.
Sunny and dry skies in Dallas-Fort Worth forecast
The NWS is only showing around a 10-20% chance of storms for North Texas over the next 24 hours.
In Dallas-Fort Worth proper, Sellers said it will be sunny and hot. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 90s over the weekend and going into next week.
Heat index values are expected to be over triple digits but not high enough to issue a heat advisory, Sellers said. A heat advisory is issued when heat index values are forecast to be at 105 degrees or higher for two consecutive days.
Over the next several days in Dallas-Fort Worth, there isn’t any real chances of storms, Sellers said. However, the NWS is tracking a cold front that may make its way into the region around this time next week.
“But again, that’s still very uncertain at this point,” Sellers said.
