A one-minute clip shared on X Sunday afternoon offers a glimpse of the mortifying moment when a tornado tore through a Shell gas station in Valley View Saturday evening.

The clip begins with terrified commuters scampering into the station’s concession store. The room is pitch black, save for the glint of the cameraman’s phone and an illuminated “Welcome” sign.

The crowd gathers along a wall. A few seconds later a gust punches through the front door. “Where’s my son?” a woman screams. Another urges calm. “It’s OK, it’s OK,” he repeats, shortly before more vicious winds shred the store apart.

A tornado devastated communities and infrastructure across Denton, Cooke, and Collin counties Saturday night. Officials say the storms killed at least seven people, including several children, though search and rescue efforts may unearth more fatalities. Everyone in the gas station survived, the Star-Telegram’s media partner WFAA reported.
