While parts of Texas wake up to temps in the 40s Saturday, what can Fort Worth expect?
Break out the sweaters, some parts of North Texas will dip down into the 40s this weekend.
After several days of 90-degree days this week, temperatures will finally feel like fall in the next few days, said Eric Martello, senior meteorologist at the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office.
Friday’s high will be in the mid to high 80s, before dropping into the 50s overnight, Martello said. A majority of the Metroplex will wake up to temperatures in the 50s, but as you get closer to the Red River, towns such as Sherman and Paris are expecting lows in the 40s.
Saturday will be breezy with a high in the 70s, followed by an overnight low in the upper 40s. Sunday will warm up slightly, then cooling off overnight in the 50s.
“Looks pretty nice,” Martello said.
While the cool weekend weather is welcome, temperatures are expected to heat back up going into next week.
Monday through Wednesday will stay in the mid to upper 80s, with the overnight low hovering in the mid-60s, Martello said. But don’t fret, a cold front will start moving into the Metroplex on Wednesday night to definitely cool things down.
By this time next week, North Texans can expect another cool down heading into the weekend, Martello said. And as October progresses, the Metroplex may finally see the last of 90-degree days for the season.
“Hopefully that stuff is in our rearview mirror,” Martello said.
