Can we expect more rain and lightning in Fort Worth? Here’s what the weather service says
Gusty winds, lightning and heavy rain are expected to roll through North and Central Texas this morning and into the evening, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth office.
“Additional thunderstorms are possible again late tonight mainly west of I-35,” the NWS says..
Temperatures across the region will be in the low 80s and mostly cloudy skies.
The NWS Hazardous Weather Outlook reports a complex of thunderstorms is expected to move into the Fort Worth area early today from the northwest. A few storms primarily west of Highway 281 may become strong to severe and contain damaging wind gusts, frequent lightning, heavy rain and small hail.
Isolated thunderstorms are in the forecast for Thursday and Friday “mainly west of I-35,” according to the NWS website. Mostly sunny conditions are forecast for Saturday and Sunday with highs in the mid to upper 80s and lows in the mid to upper 60s.
“Slightly better chances for storms will arrive on Monday and Tuesday across all of North Texas,” the NWS forecast says. “Widespread severe weather is not expected at this time.”
