Severe thunderstorms drenched North Texas on Friday as tornadoes touched down in areas in east and Central Texas, according to the National Weather Service.

Tornadoes were confirmed in Sulphur Springs and north of Paris Friday evening by the National Weather Service.

No deaths or injuries have been reported yet and it is too early for any estimates of damage.

Video posted to Facebook showed the aftermath of the torando, with debris strewn everywhere and homes destroyed.

Storms in Fort Worth appeared to have come to an end at 4:30 p.m. Friday, though a tornado watch was still in effect until about 6:30 p.m. for North Texas, including Tarrant, Dallas, Denton, Parker, Wise, Johnson and Hood counties.

There was a chance, though slim, that another storm line could form and move through Fort Worth and other parts of Tarrant County. A cold front moving into the area Friday evening was expected to squelch any possibility of continued severe weather.

There was a 100% chance of showers and thunderstorms in Tarrant County on Friday, according to the NWS in Fort Worth.

Fort Worth was expected to see about an inch of rain on Friday while other areas of North Texas might get two inches or more from the storms. No official estimates on the actual amount of rainfall had been released as of 5 p.m. Friday.

The chances of showers and thunderstorms go to 30 percent on Friday night.

Weather forecasters did not have any rain chances in the forecast for the weekend in Tarrant County.

Tornado warning in Ennis

Tornado sirens sounded in Ennis Friday around 3:40 p.m., with the police department on social media urging people to find safety and shelter in place.

Ennis ISD told parents on social media around the same time the sirens sounded that all students were being held at school campuses and were sheltering in place. It announced around 4:10 that busses were running and students were being released.

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth said there was cloud rotation spotted in Ennis, but they have not confirmed a tornado touched down in or near the city as of 4:15 p.m. Friday.

No additional information about the possible tornado was immediately available.

Flights delayed at DFW Airport

Inbound flights to DFW Airport were being held at their origin until 5:30 p.m. Friday because of storms, according to FlightAware, a company that tracks flights, delays and and conditions at airports.

Flights arriving at DFW airport were facing delays more than an hour and growing as of 4:50 p.m.

Departure delays were up to 45 minutes and increasing due to the storms.
