Tarrant County residents could see up to 2 inches of rain on Friday.

Patricia Sanchez, a spokesperson for the National Weather Service, said the rain in North Texas will be light but steady through most of the day. It will end sometime after midnight.

According to Sanchez, areas around Fort Worth have already gotten between a quarter and three-quarters of an inch of rainfall, with slightly more than half an inch falling at the DFW Airport.

Sanchez said drivers should use caution and be alert to places where water could accumulate on the roads.

Some places in Johnson and Ellis counties have received more than an inch and Sanchez said severe storms are possible in Central Texas.

The temperature will stay in the 50s all day.

Friday’s rain comes on the heels of Monday’s storms, which produced 2 to 3 inches of rain around North Texas.
