More rain, thunderstorms headed to North Texas in weather forecast for next few days
Once again, North Texans will need to find their umbrellas.
More storms are headed to Tarrant County and North Texas late Thursday and Friday, and North Texans could see one to two inches of rain. Some areas might have three inches.
“Thursday afternoon commuters won’t be seeing rain because the storms will arrive late Thursday,” said meteorologist Jason Dunn at the National Weather Service in Fort Worth on Wednesday. “Rain will be here all day Friday.”
On Thursday, daytime temperatures will be in the lower 70s.
Then the storm system arrives late Thursday, when weather forecasters say there will be an 80 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
And there’s a 90 percent chance of rain on Friday in North Texas. It drops to a 40 percent chance on Friday night.
Dunn said the overall severe weather threat is low in North Texas. But meteorologists will watch Central Texas counties as there could be some severe potential during the day Friday near a warm front.
The high temperature on Friday should be 60.
The weekend looks great for the Dallas-Fort Worth region as the storms leave the area and temperatures will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s, according to the NWS in Fort Worth.
Forecasters are predicting a good day on Monday for Halloween in North Texas. It will be sunny with temperatures in the middle 70s and no rain.
