Isolated to scattered showers expected for parts of North Texas this week
Parts of North Texas may see scattered showers and thunderstorms this week, with storms possible in the Fort Worth area.
Severe storms are not expected.
The highest chance for thunderstorms in Fort Worth this week will be on Tuesday with a 60% chance, according to weather service forecasts. Rainfall amounts between a quarter and half an inch are possible.
The National Weather Service forecasts shower and thunderstorm chances through Friday, with isolated to scattered activity expected for most of the area each day.
Afternoon highs will be in the upper 80s to low 90s.
Last week North Texas saw a near-record amount of rainfall within 24 hours. Some areas in Tarrant and Dallas counties received 12-15 inches of rain between August 21-22.
