The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is calling for an Ozone Action Day on Saturday as atmospheric conditions are expected to be more favorable for producing ozone pollution.

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth said the risks of higher pollution and lower air quality are more common the hotter it gets outside and the need to reduce pollution will likely continue into early next week, but that since the service isn’t the one that issues ozone warnings they can’t say for sure.

The TCEQ asks that North Texans take steps to reduce pollution, such as carpooling, riding a bike or walking to work, taking your lunch to work with you so you don’t have to leave to get something, avoiding drive-through lanes, conserving energy and making sure your vehicle is properly tuned.
