Severe weather expected in Dallas-Fort Worth starting Monday for 5th week in row
Severe weather is expected to roll back through North Texas starting early next week.
“Storms return to the region on Monday, and last through the first half of the week. Severe weather is possible for both Monday and Tuesday afternoons,” the National Weather Service in Fort Worth said, adding that more updates would be available throughout the weekend.
The rest of this week is expected to remain warm and dry with an elevated fire danger.
“A Red Flag Warning is in effect from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Thursday) for areas along and west of I-35. Temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s, relative humidity values around 10-15%, and northwest winds around 25-30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph will result in critical grass fire danger,” the weather service said. “Avoid outdoor activities that could start grass fires, as any fires that develop will be capable of spreading quickly.”
Temperatures are expected to rise entering the weekend with highs in the upper 70s and 80s Saturday and into the 90s Sunday.
“Skies will start off clear, but an increase in cloud cover is expected on Sunday. Sunday will be windy, with sustained winds around 15-25 mph and gusts up to 35 mph expected,” the weather service said.
