You’d better find that sweater! Strong cold front arrives in North Texas on Friday

Yes, North Texas, there will be a need for a light jacket or a sweater.

A strong cold front arrives Friday morning in Dallas-Fort Worth, bringing with it much cooler temperatures, drier air and north wind gusts around 30 mph through most of the day.

The low will be around 65 on Friday morning, and the cold front will keep the daytime temperature at 70.

Most North Texans should feel the change about mid-morning Friday.

“Once the sun goes down, you are going to feel the cooler temperatures,” said meteorologist Monique Sellers with the National Weather Service in Fort Worth on Thursday. “And no doubt, you will feel it on Saturday morning.”

North Texans will need a jacket or sweater on Saturday morning as the low could be 48.

High temperatures during the weekend and for the next several days will be in the lower to mid-70s.

Morning temperatures also will be fall-like for the next several days. Temperatures will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s.

Rain chances return Wednesday in North Texas. Forecasters say there’s a 20 percent chance of showers on Wednesday afternoon.
