Fort Worth area under severe thunderstorm watch with hail, strong wind gusts possible

Much of the region was under a severe thunderstorm watch early Wednesday as a severe line of thunderstorms moved across North Texas.

Tarrant and Dallas counties were among the North Texas areas covered until 4 a.m. by the watch, according to the National Weather Service.

Wind gusts of 60 mph and half dollar-size hail were possible.

Golf ball-sized hail covered the ground in parts of the Dallas-Fort Worth area after an earlier round of storms Tuesday morning.

Skies are expected to clear early Wednesday with sunny conditions and a high temperature of about 75 degrees.
