Some North Texas school districts cancel Wednesday classes because of sleet, snow
As the National Weather Service forecast that between 2 and 5 inches of snow and sleet will fall Wednesday morning to the west and northwest of Fort Worth, some school districts in Tarrant, Hood, Palo Pinto, Parker and Wise counties are among those that canceled classes.
Fort Worth ISD schools will be open on their normal schedule.
The heaviest precipitation is expected between 2 a.m. and 10 a.m.
The following are the schools and school districts that will be closed on Wednesday, or open on a delayed schedule as noted.
Aledo Independent School District: School and all school-related activities are canceled.
All Saints’ Episcopal School Fort Worth
Alvord Independent School District
Archer City Independent School District: Opening at 10 a.m.
Azle Independent School District
Bluff Dale Independent School District: Opening at 10 a.m.
Bowie Independent School District
Boyd Independent School District
Bridgeport Independent School District
Brock Independent School District
Callisburg Independent School District
Chico Independent School District
Compass Children’s Academy
Decatur Independent School District
Eagle Mountain Saginaw ISD: Morning classes are delayed by two hours.
Forestburg Independent School District
Gainesville Independent School District
Glen Rose Independent School District
Gordon Independent School District
Graford Independent School District: Closed on Wednesday and will be delayed Thursday until 10 a.m. Buses will run two hours later than normal.
Granbury Independent School District: Schools will open two hours late on Wednesday. Elementary schools will begin at 9:30 a.m., middle schools will begin at 10:36 a.m., STARS Accelerated High School will begin at 10:40 a.m. and Granbury High School will begin at 10:55 a.m.
Morning pre-kindergarten is canceled, as is the morning extended school day program.

High Point Academy: Opening at 10 a.m.
Jacksboro Independent School District
Lingleville Independent School District
Lipan Independent School District
Millsap Independent School District
Mineral Wells Independent School District: All school activities on Wednesday have been canceled.
Montague Independent School District
Morgan Mill Independent School District: Opening at 10 a.m.
Muenster Independent School District: Opening at 10 a.m.
Nocona Independent School District
North Central Texas Academy: Opening at 10:30 a.m.
Palo Pinto Independent School District
Paradise Independent School District
Perrin-Whitt Independent School District
Poolville Independent School District: There will be a late start, at 10 a.m., on Thursday. Morning pre-kindergarten will not be in session Thursday. Afternoon pre-kindergarten will meet on its regular schedule Thursday.
Quanah Independent School District: Opening at 10 a.m.
Saint Jo Independent School District
Santo Independent School District
Springtown Independent School District
Stephenville Independent School District: Opening two hours late
Strawn Independent School District
Tarleton State University: Opening at noon.
Vernon Independent School District: Opening at 10 a.m.

Weatherford Independent School District: Campuses and offices will be closed Wednesday, and extracurricular and after-school activities were canceled.
