Texas 121 was closed Friday morning at Stone Myers Parkway after a crash that killed one person and injured another, Grapevine police said.

A car traveling north on Texas 121 around 5 a.m. Friday, March 21, hit a guardrail, according to police. The car then fell over a wall onto the opposite side of the highway and was hit by two southbound vehicles.

The car’s driver died at the scene, police said. The driver of one of the other cars received minor injuries and was taken to a hospital.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will publicly identify the driver who died pending notification of next of kin.

The highway was closed to traffic while officers investigated and cleared the scene. Drivers were encouraged to look for alternate routes.

Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed the deadly crash to contact them immediately. They would also like to know if any businesses in the area may have surveillance video of the crash, or the moments leading up to it. Anyone with information is asked to email tips to cidmail@grapevinetexas.gov
