Overturned 18-wheeler shuts down multiple lanes on I-20 in Weatherford, police say
Police were asking drivers to avoid Interstate 20 in Weatherford because of an overturned 18-wheeler impacting both eastbound and westbound lanes Monday.
The incident occurred at about 7 a.m. near Bankhead Drive.
A previous minor accident on westbound I-20 had slowed traffic Monday morning when a semi-truck hauling dry cement failed to control its speed and collided with two cars and another semi-truck, Weatherford police said.
The semi-truck hauling the dry cement flipped over onto its right side and slid across the cable barrier into the eastbound lanes of the interstate, hitting another vehicle.
The injuries reported were not life-threatening. A woman was transported to a local hospital, police said.
Officers remained on scene throughout the morning as attempts were being made to offload the contents of the dry cement trailer, police said. All lanes had reopened as of about 3 p.m.
