Bridge fire closed westbound Interstate 30 in west Fort Worth; lanes have reopened

All westbound lanes of Interstate 30 in west Fort Worth were closed off Thursday afternoon because of a fire, according to police.

The closure, located at I-30 and Alta Mere Drive, was caused by a fire on an overhead bridge and debris falling onto the interstate. It’s unclear what caused the fire.

The lanes reopened shortly after 3 p.m., according to Fort Worth police.

Police had asked drivers to seek an alternate route.
