Take a look inside this equestrian hilltop haven that’s just 30 minutes from Fort Worth
A pasture-lined road brings you just off North Main Street in Weatherford to 41 acres of contemporary country farm land.
You don’t get a lot of hilltop views here in North Texas, but this horse cutting ranch has vistas of leafy tree tops and thundering Texas clouds.
270 Price Lane sits atop 11 grassy green pastures with state-of-the-art horse stables and a covered arena. Everyone knows running a ranch takes quite a bit of work, so this land of course has two separate three-bedroom houses. There is also an additional 40 acres adjacent to the land for ranchers to purchase if needed.
“This elite equestrian estate is a cutting horseman’s dream,” listing agent Bailee Cox said.
The opulent homestead is also conveniently located 8 minutes from downtown Weatherford, 30 minutes from Dickies Arena and also 30 minutes from Taylor Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch. This location is perfect for horse cutting trainers to develop and house their livestock while being close to competitions and shows.
The Star-Telegram got an exclusive inside look at the $4.85 million barn. Here’s what we saw.
270 Price Lane’s equestrian amenities
When Cox says “your dream ranch awaits,” she’s referring to the top-of-the-line amenities in both the barn and the pastures.
Let’s start with the barn.
There are 12 individual 14-foot by 14-foot horse stalls in the modern black-and-white custom barn. Each stable stall has corn feeders, as well as airplane hangar doors that open up for each steed to get some fresh air. There is also room to build more stalls.
Between the arena and stables is the discreet tack room and wash area. There are two shower hoses with space for up to three or four horses at a time. There are six hooks to tie horses.
The tack room has two rotating doors so you can either have all your saddles (four on each door) displayed and readily available, or hidden behind the wooden shiplap door. The room looks like a man cave with burnt-wood walls and tin accents. It’s also fully insulated with a sink, mini fridge, air conditioning and a bathroom.
The arena is bright and white with top-grade arena sand. It spans 125 feet by 125 feet, with room to expand. It also has two holding pens with a cattle alley where horsemen can wrangle cows back through the pastures.
270 Price Lane has the opportunity to also have the agricultural tax exemption in the future. It meets Parker County requirements of at least 10 acres of land and will be used for an agricultural purpose. The number of cows needed for tax exemption depends on the appraised value; however, this property has enough room for plenty of animals.
The 11 pastures are corralled with five-foot-tall steel pipe fencing which also has the no climb feature for animals. Horses all share the fence line.
An equipment barn also comes with a pair of 5,000-gallon water tanks. There is room for feed and storage on top of the well space. Going with the modern technology theme, this barn also has automatic doors.
This hilltop acreage is breathtaking, with both sandy loam and gravel roads. Oak trees shade the many virid grasslands in which the happy horses prance on. Donkeys also greet you at the entrance gate as you drive in by voicing their welcome grunts.
270 Price Lane’s modern farmhouses
The two single-story houses are perfectly positioned toward the panoramic view of Weatherford.
The two houses look similar to each other, but one is slightly larger. Both homes feature an office, three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms. Both have garages with electric vehicle hookups. And both have covered patios in the backyards.
The main thing that differs between the two homes is the layouts.
The house located to the left is larger, at 3,214 square feet. The house on the right is a bit smaller, at 3,121 square feet, and also features a smaller patio. Cox suggests you use the extra house for whatever you dream: in-laws, guests or even kids.
