18-year-old shot to death in passenger seat as mom drives after two men, Texas cops say
An 18-year-old was shot and killed while sitting in the passenger seat of her mom’s car, Texas police said.
The two women drove to an intersection in San Antonio shortly before 7 p.m. Oct. 10 to meet with two men, believed to be in their late teens, police said.
While meeting up, according to police, shots were fired. Officials said they do not know who fired the shots.
The two men fled the area on foot, and the mother drove after them with her daughter in the car, according to police. One of the two men fired shots at the vehicle as they reached the end of the road, police said.
One of the shots ricocheted off of the windshield and struck 18-year-old Kayla Salas, according to police and the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said they are searching for the two unknown suspects.
