Man shoots and kills passenger when she throws fast food at him, Missouri cops say
A car full of people made a stop for fast food when two people got into an argument, Missouri police said.
After they received their order on Oct. 10, a passenger got into an altercation with Damonte Williams and threw food at him, according to the Ferguson Police Department.
“If you throw something again I will shoot you,” Williams said, according to court documents.
The woman responded by telling Williams she would shoot him instead, police said. Then, Williams fired a shot that hit the woman in the bicep and chest, killing her, investigators said.
Police have not publicly identified the woman as of Oct. 11.
Attorney information for Williams was not listed.
The victim’s sister called 911 as the group drove to the hospital, according to a criminal complaint. When they arrived, Williams turned himself into security staff and told them he shot the passenger, police said.
Williams was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action, the criminal complaint said. He’s held on a $500,000 bond.
He was scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 11, according to court records.
Ferguson is about a 12-mile drive northwest from downtown St. Louis.
