Pup found hit by a car is onto his next journey — across the country. Meet Mario Kart
A young dog given a second chance in life is ready for a new journey — one that’s going to take him across the country.
Mario Kart’s story was one of sadness, until an animal rescue service in El Paso, Texas, came to the rescue. The 2-year-old poodle mix was hit by a car, and his serious injuries were left untreated.
“A life-saving surgery, extensive medical care, and a custom wheelchair have transformed his life, allowing him to roll with joy despite his partial paralysis,” a GoFundMe post said. Law N Paws, a non-profit dog rescue organization, is responsible for saving Mario Kart and his rehabilitation.
The good news is Mario Kart has a new home, one that’s with other dogs on wheels like him. However, it’s in Spokane, Washington, an Instagram video says.
“Mario Kart is a good boy who is being cared for by a wonderful organization, Law N Paws, who need help raising funds to transport the little guy to his new home in Washington where he’ll be joining a pack of fellow good babies on wheels,” the Aug. 22 post said.
According to KTSM, Mario Kart’s veterinary technician in Texas is going along for the ride since the pup requires special care that includes his bladder being “expressed regularly.”
The trip from El Paso to Washington state will take around 26 hours, the GoFundMe page says.
