Mega Millions player wins big in Texas. Where was the lucky ticket sold?
A Mega Millions ticket sold in Texas won $1 million and narrowly missed the $20 million jackpot, lottery officials say.
The ticket matched five winning numbers but not the Mega Ball in the drawing Friday, June 7, the Texas Lottery said.
Nobody won the grand prize, which rises to an estimated $30 million, with a cash option of approximately $13.9 million, for the next drawing Tuesday, June 11, the national Mega Millions site said.
The winning numbers were 3, 5, 12, 22 and 66 with a Mega Ball of 7. The Megaplier was 4.
The $1 million ticket was sold at a gas station in Old River-Winfree, which is about a 40-mile drive east of Houston.
More than 58,000 other tickets sold in Texas won prizes ranging from $2 to $40,000 in the drawing, the lottery said.
A ticket sold in California also matched five winning numbers to win big.
