A stand-alone building with the Buc-ee’s beaver logo has reappeared in the West Texas desert as mysteriously as it appeared and disappeared over a year ago.

Dubbed the “World’s Smallest Buc-ee’s,” the unassuming building with a plain, windowless door in the front sits about halfway between Sanderson and Marathon on Highway 90.

The art installation first appeared at the beginning of April 2022 and disappeared days later.

Buc-ee’s leadership does not know who created the art installation, but residents and tourists alike are delightfully amused by its reappearance, according to a news release.

“We heard about the resurgence of the nugget-sized Buc-ee’s in West Texas and we immediately dispatched a cleaning crew,” Buc-ee’s General Counsel Jeff Nadalo said in a statement.

Buc-ee’s, a Texas-based travel center, is known for its extensive fueling stations and clean bathrooms.

Although the “World’s Smallest Buc-ee’s” does not have fueling stations, bathrooms or Beaver Nuggets, company officials said they are hopeful that the beaver mascot will serve as a small beacon of joy for West Texans who have not yet experienced the delight of an actual Buc-ee’s travel station.
