Suspected drunk driver T-bones patrol car, sends officer to hospital, Texas cops say
A police sergeant in Texas was rushed to the hospital after a suspected drunk driver slammed into his patrol car early Sunday, police say.
Around 3:30 a.m., a driver T-boned a patrol vehicle with a sergeant inside at the intersection of Hillcroft Avenue and Beltway 8 in Missouri City, KPRC reported.
Both the sergeant and the driver were rushed to an area hospital, according to KHOU. The sergeant was said to be responsive but drifting in and out of consciousness, the outlet reported.
The driver — believed to have been drunk — was also taken to the hospital for cuts on his face, according to KTRK. He was arrested and charged with DWI, the outlet reported.
Police have not released his identity.
Missouri City is roughly 20 miles southwest of Houston.
