Angry teacher brings gun to school because he’s mad at the principal, Texas cops say

A teacher took a gun to school because he was upset with the principal, media outlets report.

Mark Davis, a history and geography teacher at Concordia Lutheran High School in Tomball, Texas, brought the firearm to his classroom Tuesday, according to the school.

Prosecutors say Davis met another teacher in the hallway and “appeared to be more angry than usual,” the Houston Chronicle reported. Davis told the teacher he was upset over a reference letter the principal wrote for him, the newspaper reported.

He told the teacher that the principal had “screwed him” when he applied for a coaching job at another school, KHOU reported.

Then Davis told the teacher he brought a handgun to school and planned on bringing a rifle, too, KTRK reported.

The teacher reported it to a school security officer, who found a .32 caliber handgun in Davis’ briefcase, the Houston Chronicle reported.

“As soon as this information was brought to our attention, we took immediate action,” the school wrote in statement. “In addition to criminal charges, Mr. Davis has been placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.”

Davis was charged with carrying a weapon in a prohibited place and threatening to exhibit or use a firearm at a school, according to court records.

Police said Davis has a concealed handgun license but the school prohibits firearms on campus, the Houston Chronicle reported.
