Texans may be questioning if who they voted for in the Nov. 5 general election is public or private information.

Early voting for the election closed on Nov. 1, leaving Election Day on Tuesday, as the last day to cast votes in the general election. The Star-Telegram has put together a voter guide for elections statewide and in Tarrant County.

When it comes to voting for the next U.S. president, can people see if you voted for Donald Trump or Kamala Harris? Here’s what to know:

Can someone in Texas check who you voted for?

No, who you vote for is private information.

People can check if you voted in certain elections, but who you cast your vote for is private information, according to the Texas Secretary of State.

Texas Election Code section 18.005 states that a person’s name, date of birth, and voter identification number are public information. These indicators can be used to look voters up in Texas counties, but again, it does not show who the person cast their vote for.
