A bond package to build an elementary school and expand the high school in the Aledo school district has passed, according to unofficial results.

The proposed $123.8 million bond won in Parker and Tarrant Counties with 56.4% of the vote.

Aledo has grown 98% over the past 10 years. Demographers estimate five new housing developments — Walsh, Morningstar, Parks of Aledo, Dean Ranch and Veale Ranch— will add more than 9,500 homes between now and 2031.

The new elementary school will be built north of the new McAnnally Middle School. Expansions at the high school include barn space and a multi-purpose addition.

The bond will cost the owner of a $400,000 home $90 a year.
