The Tarrant Regional Water District board voted unanimously Tuesday to approve the 2025 budget while keeping its tax rate the same.

Tarrant County property owners will pay 2.67 cents per $100 of value in 2025, which is expected to add roughly $4 to the average homeowner’s property tax bill, TRWD General Manager Dan Buhman told the board at a Sept. 12 meeting.

A home valued at $350,000 with a homestead exemption will pay $93.45 to the district in 2025. Most property owners are likely to pay more because of increased values.

This money goes to fund flood control and maintain the levee system along the Trinity River, Buhman said. The district also gets revenue selling raw water to cities like Fort Worth, which is used to maintain reservoirs and protect the region’s water supply.
