A gambler walked away from a Florida casino with a big jackpot prize.

The player sat at a Triple Supreme Xtreme Grand Prosperity slot machine May 15 at the Seminole Brighton Bay Hotel & Casino in Okeechobee, the casino said in a news release.

The visitor bet $17.60, hit spin and watched as the symbols flashed across the screen until a jackpot message appeared.

Now the gambler is $53,113 richer.

Okeechobee is about a 70-mile drive northwest from West Palm Beach.

A Las Vegas gambler got lucky at a slot machine recently, winning two jackpots on the same game, McClatchy News reported.

The player sat at a Buffalo Link game at the Four Queens Hotel & Casino, bet $30 and won $5,285.96.

Then they bet $30 again on the same game and won the $12,145.77 jackpot.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
