Two poker players won big jackpots back-to-back at a Reno, Nevada, casino with one of the rarest hands in the game.

The first player sat at a Face Up Pai Gow poker table Saturday, May 10, at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, a spokesperson for the casino told McClatchy News by email May 14.

The gambler then scored the $183,946 jackpot with a seven-card straight flush in hearts. His winning cards were a 6, 7, 9, 10, jack and a queen with a joker acting as an 8.

A new deck was put into the card shuffler and the “very next hand” was another straight flush, the spokesperson said.

The second poker player won $90,002. His winning cards were a 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8 of clubs with a joker acting as a 4.

A straight flush is one of the rarest hands in the game and requires a player to get cards in sequential order in the same suit, according to Upswing Poker.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
