Lottery player wins $25,000 a year for life prize in NC. Where was ticket sold?
A North Carolina lottery player scored a massive prize — and may not know it yet.
The player bought a Lucky for Life ticket that matched all but one number picked in the May 13 drawing, making it worth $25,000 a year for life, results show.
The winning numbers: white balls 4-14-17-43-44, with gold Lucky Ball 12.
The player is set to get richer after their ticket matched all five white balls. It was sold at the Quality Mart gas station and convenience store in Jonesville, a roughly 40-mile drive northwest from Winston-Salem, the N.C. Education Lottery wrote on its website and X, formerly known as Twitter.
Lucky for Life is a drawing game that offers $2 tickets. To win the top prize of $1,000 a day for life, a person’s ticket must match all six numbers picked in a drawing, according to game rules.
As of about 10 a.m. May 14, the Jonesville player hadn’t claimed their prize yet, a lottery spokesperson told McClatchy News via email. In North Carolina, Lucky for Life winners have roughly six months to come forward.
“Check your tickets,” lottery officials wrote.
