A man used his $20 lottery win to buy another ticket, then he won a massive jackpot prize in Maryland.

Now, he’s $685,656 richer.

Before his win, the lottery player found some money in his car, the Maryland Lottery said in a May 13 news release.

He bought a $5 scratch-off and won $20 from it, then used that money to buy a Fast Play Super 777 ticket.

Officials said he scanned the ticket with his lottery app, and it prompted him to go to a lottery office, so he knew “something big had happened.”

That’s when he realized he won a big jackpot prize.

He told lottery officials he has plans to use his winnings to take his children and grandchildren on a summer vacation.

The man bought the ticket from a Quick Mart in Dundalk, which is about a 10-mile drive southeast from Baltimore.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
