Man awaiting burglary trial paid another inmate to kill a woman, Ohio cops say
An Ohio man awaiting trial in a county jail has been accused of paying another inmate to kill a woman, according to court documents.
Dominick Grubb, 18, was in county jail after being charged with aggravated burglary when, according to court documents, prosecutors said Grubb made plans for the murder from Dec. 24 to Jan. 3 with another inmate, identified as a confidential informant.
He’s charged with conspiracy to commit murder, a felony.
Prosecutors said he had his mother deposit $100 in the other inmate’s commissary account and promised $2,500 more, and he got him a firearm for the act.
“The defendant explicitly said to the informant ‘I am asking you to kill a (expletive) for me,’” according to court documents.
Prosecutors said he suggested the informant kill her at her child’s bus stop, explaining how to avoid security cameras in the area and telling him that he didn’t care if the child died as a result.
They met up, prosecutors said, and Grubb gave the informant detailed information to help him carry out the killing, including the target’s address, social media information, a complete description of her car and details about her family members.
At a hearing March 13, a judge set Grubb’s bail at $5 million. His hearing for the aggravated burglary charge was extended to April.
