A young-at-heart horse who will steal your breath with her unique beauty is in need of a home in the northeast.

Not only is she beautiful, but Zoey, a spirited mare with a heavenly personality, knows it and revels in prairies, the New Hampshire Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) in Stratham says.

“If you’ve ever dreamed of watching a truly unique, stunning horse frolic in your pasture... our good friend Zoey is ready to make that dream come true!” the shelter said in a Feb. 28 Facebook post.

“This flashy 21-year-old leopard Appaloosa mare has done it all—western pleasure, trail riding, and even equine-assisted therapy. At this stage in her life, Zoey is looking for a home where she can enjoy life at a slower pace. While her riding days should be limited due to arthritis, she’s still sound on daily Equioxx and LOVES to stretch her legs with a joyful gallop.”

Appaloosa horses tend to be “visually striking” with their spotted coats and known for their “gentle temperament,” per WebMD. The leopard part of the breed has to do with her Dalmatian-like ebony spots and lightly colored coat.

Zoey appears to relish in her gentle nature, especially when it comes to little humans.

“Zoey enjoys being around children—especially if they take the time to groom her. We believe she could even give gentle leadline pony rides,” the shelter said.

“If you have a soft spot for a sweet, spirited mare who will bring beauty and joy to your barn, Zoey is waiting to meet you!”

People in the comment section of the post marveled at Zoey’s appearance.

“She is so beautiful!!” one person on Facebook said.

“SPOTS!!!! I love her!!!” another gushed.

“21 years young and spunky!” someone observed.

For more information on Zoey or other adoptable farm animals, visit the shelter’s Facebook page.

Stratham is about a 55-minute drive north from Boston, Massachusetts.
