A lottery player won the sixth-largest jackpot in a Maryland game’s history — but hasn’t claimed the prize, officials said.

“Congratulations to the state’s newest multimillionaire!” lottery officials said in a Feb. 25 news release. “The Maryland Lottery is looking for a Multi-Match player who won the estimated $3.3 million jackpot in the Monday, Feb. 24, drawing.”

Once they claim their prize, the winner can choose between an annuity option in which the prize is paid in 25 equal installments or a cash option of about $1.92 million before taxes, officials said.

The winning ticket was sold at J Convenience in Parkville, officials said. The numbers were 3, 6, 16, 22, 26 and 33.

The winner should sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe spot, officials said. The player has 182 days from the drawing date to claim the prize.

Prizes over $25,000 have to be claimed in person or by mail through lottery headquarters in Baltimore, officials said. The lottery does not accept walk-ins, so the winner will have to make an appointment to claim the winnings in person.

It was the first Multi-Match jackpot win of 2025, officials said. Tickets are only sold in Maryland.

The game had eight jackpot winners in 2024 and 10 in 2023, officials said.

On the $2 ticket, players get three lines of six numbers between 1 and 43, officials said. The Maryland Lottery then draws six numbers between 1 and 43 every Monday and Thursday night.

Parkville is about a 20-mile drive northeast from Baltimore.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
