A man who had to make the gut-wrenching decision to take his dog to a shelter is sleeping happier after being reunited with his best friend.
The IndyHumane shelter in Indianapolis posted a video to its Facebook page on Feb. 21, showing a tearful reunion between a man and his dog after a separation.
“This reunion pulled on our heartstrings. A young man walked into IndyHumane and asked, ‘Do you still have London?’” the shelter said. “After a quick check, our adoption counselors gave him the news—yes, she was still here. Instantly, relief washed over him as he explained that London was actually his dog.
“After facing hardship and losing his home, he had to make the impossible choice to surrender his sweet girl. But today, fate brought them back together.”
The video shows the young man excitedly waiting for his dog, London, at the end of the hall. Finally, she’s brought out and rushes to him, wagging her tail in excitement.
“Their reunion? Pure joy, happy tears, and tail wags all around,” the shelter said.
The video has 1,700 reactions and nearly 70 comments.
“Crying happy tears for this young man and London!” one person wrote.
“Truly heartwarming love this!” another commented.
“I love a happy ending,” someone said.
