Customer assaults Wingstop worker, then hits her with car in parking lot, Ohio cops say
A Wingstop worker was run over by a driver when a fight spilled outside the Ohio fast-food restaurant, according to police and news reports.
The Columbus Police Department said the fight began when Stefannie Cook was arguing with the employee inside the restaurant on Friday, Feb. 21, WSYX reported.
When the worker went to the back of the business to get away from Cook, the 36-year-old woman entered through a back door and began to assault the employee, according to WSYX, citing court documents.
Police said they were both punching one another, then the fight moved outside the business, WBNS reported.
As the employee tried to run away, Cook is accused of getting into her vehicle and driving toward the worker, pinning her between a wall and the vehicle, according to the court documents obtained by WBNS.
WCMH reported the worker had “lower leg injuries,” and she was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
Cook, who is accused of causing “significant” damage to the wall, was arrested at her home, according to WCMH.
Court records show Cook was charged with felonious assault. She was scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 24.
Police did not say what led to the alleged assault.
