‘Confused’ cat with injured leg left at shelter with a tear-jerking note. Meet Felix
A cat in a soul-shattering situation is on the mend at a shelter in Philadelphia after being left alone with just a handwritten note.
The Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) shared a sorrowful story across their social media feeds about a mournful looking cat.
“Just days ago, Felix was left in a box out front of our shelter with nothing but a note,” the shelter said in a Jan. 10 Facebook post.
“He was scared and suffering from a deep leg wound. He didn’t know who to trust, what was safe, or what would happen next.”
The note was posted on the shelter’s Instagram page.
“Hi. My name is Felix,” the note started. “Please fix my leg and neuter me. My mom can no longer afford me. I’m sweet and loving. Please find me a new home. Thank you so much.”
The shelter brought Felix into the warmth and got to work.
“But though he is still confused and heartbroken, Felix’s next chapter has already begun,” the shelter’s Facebook post continued.
“Without hesitation, Felix was brought into our safety. Our veterinary team quickly got to work treating his wounds and each day he is slowly beginning to open up. His fear is fading little by little and he is becoming the sweet and loving cat he was described as.
“Once healed, he will be ready to find that new home.”
The shelter will post updates on Felix and his progress on their social media pages. For more information about adoptable pets, visit the shelter’s website.
