Two men were pulled from an icy lake after their UTV plunged through the ice, Wisconsin officials said.

While neither man was seriously injured, the driver was placed under arrest once he was safely retrieved from the freezing water in Hustisford, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office said in a Jan. 6 Facebook post.

Deputies said the 45-year-old driving the UTV was intoxicated when he drove onto the ice.

The 46-year-old passenger was not injured, deputies said. The suspected intoxicated driver was taken to the hospital “as a precaution” and was released, according to the post.

The driver was charged with operating a UTV while under the influence of an intoxicant, according to deputies.

Hustisford is about a 50-mile drive northwest from Milwaukee.
