Terrified dog was ‘confined in a kennel’ without food or water. Now, he needs a home
A skittish pup with a background of neglect is hoping to find a loving — and patient — home after spending a lot of his life terrified of people.
But despite the little guy’s background, he’s slowly learning to love again, a Texas shelter noted.
“This handsome boy is Kody! He was born 9/1/2023 and he is a miniature pincher mix. We know his mom is a min-pin, but don’t know what dad is,” the South Plains Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Lubbock said in a Dec. 17 Facebook post.
“This big boy spent his whole first four (months) of his life confined in a kennel with no interaction with anyone other than his little sis and little to almost no food or water. He is still very afraid of people, especially males, and loud noises and will spend a lot of his time hiding under a bed or wherever he can find a hiding place until he is comfortable.”
The shelter said Kody is “slowly coming around” and that while he’s good with his fellow dogs, he takes a bit to get used to people — especially children — and it would be best if there are no young kids in his new home.
Kody is still in his hiding phase and enjoys sleeping under a bed or in a dog bed.
“Kody is the sweetest, most beautiful soul ever and with proper training, love and affection, this sweet boy will make a perfect addition to someone’s family and home,” the shelter continued.
