‘Special kitty’ who wobbles when she walks loves snuggles. Teeni needs a home

A cat with some health ailments, but who has a lot of love to give, is being highlighted by an Iowa shelter.

Meet Teeni, a 3-year-old short-hair kitty looking for an extra special home of her own. According to the Kings Harvest Pet Rescue No Kill Shelter in Davenport, not only is the cuddly cat blind, but she’s also an unstable walker and will at times tip over.

There’s no cure for her condition. But does Teeni let that get in the way of giving loving? Nope.

“Don’t let that stop you — she is the sweetest kitty who loves to be held and snuggled, she’ll just bury her little head in your arms and purr and cuddle,” the shelter said in a Sept. 2 Facebook post.

“She will need a home that does not change their furniture around but other than that she gets along really well.”

Based on the description, it’s believed that Teeni has cerebellar hypoplasia (CH) a disorder that can cause jerky movements in both cats and dogs. While it’s noncurable, so-called “wobbly cat syndrome” doesn’t progress with age, the Noah Center says.

“It is important to know that cats with CH are not in any pain and can live very normal, happy, and healthy lives,” the center says.

“They have a normal life expectancy and are not contagious to other animals or people. Cats with CH tend to learn to adapt to their condition over time and may require no extra care or a great deal of extra care depending on the severity of their condition.”

Folks with words of encouragement filled the comment section of the social media post featuring the sweet looking, gray and white Teeni.

“CH kitties are the best!!!! I have 1 and he is awesome!” one person said.

“My daughter has a ‘woobly’ cat and she is the sweetest!!” another commented.

“She is beautiful! I hope she has a loving home soon,” someone noted.

Davenport is about a 165-mile drive east from Des Moines.
