Man kills woman, then himself after she skips him in line at Taco Bell, Ohio cops say
Two people were found shot to death outside a fast-food restaurant in what Ohio police are investigating as a possible murder-suicide.
It happened at about 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at the Taco Bell on Graham Road in Stow, according to the city’s police department.
Officers were called about a shooting and found two people — a man and a woman — shot in the restaurant’s drive-thru, police said in a news release. Both were dead.
Witnesses told police that the man was in the drive-thru line when he got out of his car, approached the woman in her car and opened fire, killing her.
The man then turned the gun on himself, police said.
Authorities identified the deceased as Megan Keleman, 25, and Jason Williams, 53.
They did not know each other, police said.
The deadly shooting reportedly stemmed from dispute after Keleman cut in front of Williams in the drive-thru line, witnesses told police. Williams blew his horn at Keleman, then rear-ended her with his car, police said.
“Through the drive-thru speaker, Ms. Keleman asked the Taco Bell employees to call police,” authorities said in a news release. “Moments later Willams exited his car and shot Ms. Keleman.”
Both of their cars were taken for processing.
In a statement, Keleman’s family asked for privacy and thanked the community for its outpouring of support.
“In light of the recent events, our family is enduring an immensely painful loss,” they said. “We appreciate the community’s support and hope that our request for privacy will be honored so we can continue to focus on supporting each other through this difficult period.”
Stow is about a 40-mile drive southeast from Cleveland.
