Man stabs 3 at McDonald’s after cashier refuses to give him free food, Chicago cops say
A 24-year-old man is accused of stabbing three people at a McDonald’s in Chicago, according to Illinois police and news outlets.
The man entered the McDonald’s on Chicago’s south side on the morning of Sunday, Aug. 4, armed with a “hatchet like object,” police said in a news release.
He approached the cashier and demanded free food, police said. When the cashier refused, he attacked, “striking” an 18-year-old man and two 45-year-old women.
All three were taken to hospitals for treatment, according to police. One of the women was reportedly in “serious condition,” police said, and the other two victims were “in good condition.”
An investigation was launched and authorities identified the suspect as Chicago resident Jermaine Allen, WLS reported.
Allen was arrested at 1:15 p.m. the day of the attack, and is facing charges including attempted murder, aggravated battery, use of a deadly weapon and aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, police told WFLD.
