59-year-old breaks into ex-girlfriend’s home and is fatally stabbed, CA deputies say
A man broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home and was stabbed to death, California deputies say.
The 59-year-old Apple Valley man made his way into his ex-girlfriend’s Hesperia home by forcing a window open the evening of Monday, July 8, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.
Once inside, the ex-boyfriend was stabbed during a “physical altercation” with a 62-year-old man, deputies said.
When deputies arrived on scene, they found the man performing CPR on the wounded ex-boyfriend, according to the sheriff’s department.
The ex-boyfriend was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, deputies said.
The man told deputies his actions were out of “defense of life and property.”
Deputies said they’ve alerted the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office about the incident and will forward a report for review.
Hesperia is about an 80-mile drive northeast from Los Angeles.
