As deputies searched an apartment for a missing 24-year-old woman, they noticed someone driving her Jeep.

They pulled the SUV over hoping to speak with the driver, but 26-year-old Sean Goe, the woman’s boyfriend, ran off during the traffic stop, Ohio deputies said.

Two searches ensued around Plain Township on July 2 — one for 24-year-old Raychel Sheridan and another for Goe, the Stark County Sheriff’s Office said in a July 8 Facebook post.

In the early hours the following day, Canton police arrested Goe at a homeless shelter for multiple active warrants including domestic violence involving Sheridan, deputies said.

Later that morning, sanitation workers at a Canton park found a body believed to be Sheridan, according to deputies.

Deputies said Goe killed Sheridan in their apartment before dumping her body in the park.

Goe was charged with murder, abuse of a corpse, domestic violence and tampering with evidence in connection with Sheridan’s death, according to deputies. He is held in jail on a $1 million bond.

Plain Township is about a 55-mile drive south of Cleveland.
