$15.5 million Colorado ranch comes with interesting feature — a dinosaur cemetery
A vast and beautiful property has landed on the real estate market in the Centennial State that will surely satisfy your dinosaur-loving inner child.
Three Springs Ranch, a 108,277-acre cattle ranch (with 21,034 deeded acres), is listed for $15.5 million and was once a hotspot to unearth dinosaur fossils — bones that are now on display at the town’s Dinosaur National Monument.
That town’s name? Yes, it’s Dinosaur, Colorado.
According to the Wall Street Journal, a 12-year-old by the name of India Wood dug up an allosaurus skeleton “the size of a turkey platter” on the property in 1979. Wood continued to hunt for fossils and “had 18 bones in her bedroom” by the early 1980s.
The ranch is also the home of preserved Native American petroglyphs, the listing says.
Sure, the land being a place to discover more fossils and artifacts is a huge draw, but there are other noteworthy aspects of Three Springs that will attract hunters as well.
