Fun house for sale in Louisiana with a mix of ‘insanity and creativity’ is must-see
The city of New Orleans is more than just a place — it’s a full-blown living, breathing experience. And while a lot of places try to capture or recreate that magical essence in their own personal space, few have succeeded.
And then along comes this house, which is said to be an “entertainer’s delight,” on the real estate market in the Big Easy for $2.2 million.
The four-bedroom, five-bathroom house is truly its own work of art with a cornucopia of vibrant colors, LED lights, dramatic paintings and so much more over its 5,224 square feet, according to the listing on Zillow.com. Other features include:
Cabana area
Off-street parking
Two-car garage
Wine cellar
Fireplace
High ceilings
Over-sized master bedroom closet
Swimming pool
The estate quickly consumed the comment section of the popular social media page Zillow Gone Wild as fans went nuts over the vivid décor.
“I love the insanity and creativity running thru this house,” one person said. “It’s not old NOLA and certainly something wilder.”
“I think it’s fantastic,” another gushed. “Some of the decorations aren’t my style but I love seeing people use color & unique decorations. It’s great when people make their homes unique. I’m so tired of bland, boring homes that all look alike.”
“This is SO much better than bland white modern farm house everything,” one person commented. “It’s extra, but I love it.”
“Very pop art/modern art,” another said. “I just want to meet the fun person that lived here.”
“I would only buy this if it comes with every piece of furniture/decor!!! Obsessed…” one person commented.
“I freakin’ LOVE it!!!” another exclaimed. “What fun! I’d rather have this than a grey-painted Modern Zombie Farmhouse house.”
“Don’t mind me, just adding these sellers to the ‘People I wish I was friends with’ file,” one person said.
“This breed of eclectic eccentricity, focus on art, and absurdity is 100% New Orleans and I love it,” another pointed out. “I’m sorry that some people just don’t understand.”
The home is owned by Louisiana-based artist Ashley Longshore, who has worked with numerous celebrities. It was even featured in Architectural Digest.
“I think the main thing that’s so appealing about New Orleans is how the city really celebrates the arts,” Longshore told Architectural Digest regarding her adopted city. “But also in New Orleans, nobody really needs a reason to celebrate. Just waking up in the morning is one, and I just love that vein of optimism and creativity.”
